It's always a wonderful time to celebrate the light within ourselves, and during the summer season, this celebration becomes even more significant. With its abundance of brightness and growth, summer offers the perfect opportunity to honour and embrace the light within us even more.
One of my personal traditions during the summer solstice is to bury the dark thoughts that have been lingering in my mind. It has become a ritual I practice every year. I decided to wear a white dress symbolizing the radiance of summer, also as jewellery I chose: The Love and Focus bracelet is perfect for grounding and enhancing focus, providing strength when needed the most. The Glorious Prosperity bracelet healing, balance, prosperity. Additionally, The Sun and Moon stainless-steel necklace adorned with a sun pendant represents life, energy, power, positivity, and clarity. Lastly, the Vitality and Motivation Carnelian mala helps boost energy, creativity, and removes any mental blocks. (I'm mainly using carnelian stone this day to support my healing journey during the postpartum period and to specifically focus on my root chakra.)
To start, I find a quiet spot and write down all the negative thoughts that have been occupying my mind lately. Taking that piece of paper, I proceed to bury it in the ground, leaving those unhealthy thoughts behind forever.
If I catch myself uttering those unkind words to myself again, I utilize an imaginative technique. I envision a bad mirror on my left and a good mirror on my right. I throw the unkind thoughts into the left mirror and then gaze into the right mirror, transforming them into positive and healthy thoughts. For instance, instead of saying, "I can't do this," I replace it with, "I am capable. I am strong, and I will overcome this."
Next, I embark on a goal review, reflecting on the following questions:
- What are the things I want to bring into my life?
- What should I stop doing?
- Which habits do I want to change?
After pondering these questions, I jot down my intentions and affirmations. These can be goals, plans, or aspirations for the summer.
I write my affirmations for this season on a piece of paper and place them next to my mirror. As often as possible, I stand before the mirror, look into my eyes, and repeat these affirmations to myself. I find that this technique works best for me as I connect with my soul, when I look into my eyes speaking the words with conviction and embracing the associated emotions.
By engaging in these practices, I embrace the magic of the summer solstice, celebrating the light within me and allowing it to shine brightly throughout the season.
